AFTER THE LAYOFF.....
SOME HELPFUL URLs TO HELP YOU START YOUR JOB SEARCH

Job Search Engines

Most of the of following URLs were gathered from the unemployment office, AARP materials and New York Public Library.

Many of the websites ask for your e-mail address plus other information, even if you don’t post a resume. Be prepared to receive e-mails on a daily basis from the site if you give them the information.

If you want to post a resume for an employer search, please follow the directions of the specific website because they are different in each instance. Keep in mind that you might want to keep your resume in .txt format so that when it uploads onto the web browser it doesn’t “look funny” with words in odd places or bullet points displayed as another symbol.

Many of the sites not only list jobs, but have links to special interest groups like veterans, 50+ etc..

We have listed the websites that search for many different types of jobs first, followed by those that list jobs for a specific skill set or profession.

If “NR” follows the link, it means we did not open it prior to listing it
